The summer of 2015, we launched our official Facebook like page to represent the “I am H.I.M.” Scholarship Foundation. We set out to make sure we incorporated ideas that would be different from the usual, and would impact lives daily. The main purpose of the like page is to provide encouragement and motivation to males regardless of race, age or socioeconomic status because everyone can use motivation. When deciding to think outside of the box, we decided to come up with the idea of creating a spotlight for males to be featured for their accomplishments and success. Each week, we share the story of a different male each week in hopes of someone being motivated through the post shared. With less than 15 males posted thus far, we have gained nearly 600 followers, and reached as many as 30,000 people through shares and likes. With this type of exposure, it is our hope that someone may come across those posts and find himself encouraged to continue on their journey towards success. It also serves as a networking opportunity for the males posted as they are exposed to a broader audience. It is our prayer that we continue to explore new ideas to impact even more lives as we continue this project.
