Jabriel Morrison is a native of Little Rock, South Carolina. He is a graduate of Dillon High School, and is currently enrolled in Fayetteville Technical College. At FTC, he is pursuing a degree in Mortuary Science to become a Licensed Funeral Home Director and Embalmer. Jabriel realized that God has many doors set before him, and his role is to trust God to walk into them. Currently those doors have allowed him to talk on the roles of an ordained and licensed elder, youth minister, praise and worship leader, and Sunday school teacher. Jabriel is indeed an encourager, motivator, and friend. His life is centered and dependent upon prayer.

His daily motivation comes from Philippians 3:13-14, "No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,[a] but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." He loves to encourage everyone he comes in contact with to push for the greater in life spiritually, mentally, academically, and financially.

Peer Mentor

My name is Sandez Werts. I am native of Saluda, South Carolina, where I graduated from Saluda High School. I am currently continuing my education at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where I am in my Junior year of studying Special Education, with a concentration in Learning and Emotional Disabilities. I plan to teach elementary school for a few years, while completing my Master's and Doctoral degrees. Once I receive my Doctorate, I am interested in becoming a college professor or working in an collegiate office that caters to the needs of students who have disabilities.

One quote that I live by comes from Malcolm X and he says, "Nobody can give you freedom. Nobody can give you equality or justice or anything. If you're a man, you take it." I believe this "taking" is universal for anything worth having. People can give you things all your life, but you do not know how to take those things and put them to use, you wasted your life. If you want education, you take it. If you want success, you take the education you received and apply it. If you want love, you take that person as is. If you want anything bad enough, you will learn to "take" and do what you have to do.
